Yep it's me again. was hunting the wild groc. in it's natural environment tonight, while talking to the checkout clerk one of the young guys sacking complained about work taking away from his personal time and turned in his notice. the clerk and i just kinda smiled at each other.
i thought of the bad old days when by 15 or 16 he would have been a master at his craft and married. then mentioned to the clerk that just 60 or 70 years ago it wasn't all that unusual for people to be out in the work force after 8th grade. reading the bbc's world war two website about the home front can add more for you.lots of young folk leaving school to go to work then at 14.
i went into my old saw about how kids are old enough at 18 to help change the world by voting and going to war but not drink, but gee the folks my age when they went off to nam got it lowered. but now it's their kids they aren't old or responsible enough to drink or drive. however this time a new thought came to me and i added.... yea, and who made them that way. well the clerk a mother her self got wide eyed and said yea.
well it's just a thought. all the best tt. ...-
by by and buy bonds.
